Tae Update Requirements

In July 2017, Skills Ministers agreed to update training and qualification assessment requirements in line with changes to the TAE training curriculum to ensure that VET staff have the right skills to design and develop assessment tools and identify and assess NLL requirements. In the latest update, qualifications TAE50116 and TAE50216 are now integrated into the TAE50122 Vocational Education and Training Diploma. Comments indicated that qualifications TAE50116 and TAE50216 were not sufficiently differentiated in terms of the skills and knowledge provided to learners. As a result, the two degrees were merged into a single TAE50122 to improve learning outcomes. Specialisation branches have also been introduced to support this new approach. The update of the vocational education and training diploma is as follows: the same is not true for the TAE50116 vocational education and training diploma. The TAE50116 rating does not match the updated TAE50122 qualification and will have significant changes in the training package. Please note the following interaction requirements for Distance+ students: The changes are now reflected in the 2015 Standards for Accredited Training Organizations (OTRs). Further information and FAQs are available at: www.education.gov.au/trainer-and-assessor-credential-requirements The TAE update concerns three qualifications: TAE40116, TAE50116 and TAE50216.

Some TAE40110 trainers and evaluators may have completed one or more of the relevant units on an optional basis or as part of continuing professional development. If trainers and evaluators do not currently have the appropriate units, they must complete them by July 1, 2019 to meet the new requirements. In this way, you will receive TAELLN411 Address Adult language, literacy and numacy skills as well as TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment tools. It also updates two other replaced units and gives you the latest versions of everything and a new qualification, all together. The long-awaited TAE update for updated Certificate IV training and assessment, as well as other key TAE qualifications and units, are nearing completion! The second draft has just completed its public validation and the final draft will now be prepared before being submitted to the IACS for approval at the end of 2022. The new TAE training module is expected to be released on training.gov.au a few months after approval by the AISC, provided there are no issues with the relevant minister`s signature process, i.e. probably in January or February 2023. VET stakeholders have been closely following this update for good reason. This change affects everyone in the industry, especially coaches and future coaches. This finding comes from the 2010 AQTF, which noted that the NQC (National Quality Council) has agreed to a two-year transition period to give the RTO time to take a planned approach to ensure that all trainers and evaluators comply with the new requirements of Standard 1.4(a), as agreed to by the Board on June 17, 2010. „By June 2012, all trainers and evaluators should consider TAE40110 to be consistent with professional evaluation practice.“ This comprehensive one-day iClass+ online course provides participants with the opportunity to complete all practical assessment tasks for the required TAEASS401 plan assessment activities and processes and TAEASS403`s participation in the online assessment validation gap training and in a single day.

By participating in this recommended pathway, students will cover the entire theory of unity as well as all practical assessment tasks under the guidance of an experienced trainer. Students will also complete the update kit and be ready to submit it to the Student Portal at the end of the two-day online course. In order to ensure that VET staff have the right skills to design and develop assessment tools and to identify and assess NLL requirements, the relevant ministers agreed to update them to adapt to changes to the TAE training programme. Recent feedback from vocational education and training has shown that trainers and evaluators in some RTOs may not have met the new requirements as of 1 April 2019, as more trainers and evaluators have access to gap training. As a result, some RTOs were unable to respond to the request for assessment and issuance of relevant documentation on that date. More information on updated requirements for trainers and examiners can be found here. Certificate IV in Education and Assessment and the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training will have significant changes in their packaging rules. The new TAE training package includes new access requirements for TAE40122 and TAE50122. For these TAE updates, students entering the course must have industry knowledge and experience, or have a relevant skill unit or qualification. Anyone wishing to enter the DP must provide evidence of their current skills and knowledge in vocational education and training.

As part of this unit, students will understand and apply the Australian Core Competencies Framework (ACSF) to identify and support LLN challenges. Students analyze LLN requirements and levels for training specifications, levels of true professional learners, adjust and contextualize resources to match their learners` LLN levels, and offer training to these true professional learners.
