Autumn is the season for Oktoberfest and beer festivals, and to toast the season, the Burns Law Library presented an exhibition commemorating the Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law, passed in Bavaria in 1516. Duke William IV`s decree, considered the oldest brewing law in force, limited beer ingredients to water, barley and hops.
