At the lowest point of the air box is a Donaldson Vacuator water drain valve to ensure that the water that enters the snorkel and descends to the air box flows again. You also get a gas unit for your hood in this kit, if the hood is cut and the snorkel is guided through the hood, you can no longer operate the gas strut on this side, so we have a stony corset that is mounted on the other side where the existing stud is located, which is gassed higher, to keep the weight of the hood open.
Unlike many 4-inch snorkels, you don`t need to drill holes in the shelter, but the snorkel goes over the inner protection and through a hole cut in the corner of the hood with our template. The air filter box used with this mixer is very poorly sealed because the air box is 2 pieces, and the connections from the air box to the snorkel are oval or square, resulting in silicone duck tape and other methods that try to seal this bad design! The snorkel is mounted on 1 existing weld nut in the inner protection (see photos) and the column support, which is fixed with 7 rivets and a polyurethane adhesive for sealing. Rocker Cover Breather needs to be reinstalled in the new plumbing between the mixer cover and your snorkel. A longer gas supply line to the mixer may or may not require an extension, a basic adjustment may be required due to the increase in airflow. This also eliminates the snorkel, reducing the likelihood that it will be uprooted from trees or shorelines. This side entrance snorkel is designed to align with the factory snorkel hole in the inner guard. This airbox, installed with the large exhaust/drop pipe and the wide range of melodies available for this Toyota model, are excellent achievable performance gains.
